Museum Beelden aan Zee pairs ten Giacometti sculptures with Rui Chafes works in Scheveningen until 9 January 2027; regular museum admission applies.
What you need to know
This sculpture exhibition is a strong indoor backup when the weather at Scheveningen turns. It opened on 26 June 2026 and continues until 9 January 2027, using regular museum admission. The quieter, focused setting is especially useful for visitors who prefer a compact cultural stop to a crowded all-day museum.
The presentation is more than two artists placed side by side. Giacometti's grey, fragile figures and Chafes's black metal forms are arranged as a conversation about emptiness, weight and space. Several Chafes works were created for the occasion, while ten Giacometti sculptures anchor the comparison. The beach remains close enough to combine both in one half-day route.
For people building a weekend in the Netherlands, this is easiest to use as a practical stop rather than a vague inspiration. Check the live booking page before leaving, allow time for the final admission or programme start, and compare public transport with parking. Families should also confirm the language, age guidance and whether food or a stroller is allowed.
- The curators are Brigitte Bloksma and Helena de Freitas.
- The museum is built into the dunes, with its entrance on Harteveltstraat.
- Check the live ticket page for the current admission category and opening day.
Hokimi field note: Book the museum first, then keep the beach and indoor portions flexible if wind or rain changes.
Before ordering, confirm the current price, stock, size or specification, delivery and return terms with the source.
